Areas of Interest and Expertise
An ordained minister of the National Baptist Convention, Michelle is committed to helping students interpret the biblical texts in the historical and cultural settings of the times in which they were written, and when possible, the authors’ intent in writing the texts. Her teaching and research interests include the legal codes, especially the purity laws in the Bible. She is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the American Academy of Religion.
“I am excited about teaching at Bangor Seminary because I feel I will be making a difference not only in the lives of my students, but also in the lives of their congregants and, I hope, society at large. In this way we can bring about a positive change.”
